Popcorn and Coke

Hi my sweet angels! Tonight Mommy went to the movies with Erika. It was so much fun. We went to see The Hunger Games. We read all of the books so it was really fun seeing the movies. Erika bought Mommy popcorn and a yummy coke. It was so good. I also had some red vines in my purse. Yummy it was such a nice treat.

Today was a nice day. Grammie picked Harvey up and met me at work for lunch. We ate at Panera. It was a great lunch and so good to see Harvey and Grammie.

We spied on you again today. It looks like you are growing. Dr. Potter wants me to get blood drawn again tomorrow and have another ultrasound. He wants everything to be just perfect. I do too! Please grow my sweet angels. Grow and be safe in there. I pray that you are all healthy and mature. Heres to keeping our fingers crossed. I am so excited to see you, meet you, and hold you.

See you tomorrow.

Hi my sweet little angels. Today I was able to spy on you at work and you are all growing so fast! I am so proud of you all. I will have repeat labs and a repeat ultrasound tomorrow to see how you are doing.

I started my third injection last night, it has been a little rough, but you are totally worth it. Last night Daddy was studying so I decided to do my shots by myself. They hurt less when I do them than when Daddy gives me them. I try to be a good patient and let him poke me even though sometimes he accidentally pokes me multiple times. I know he feels like he is helping and its really important for him to play a part in making you grow inside my belly before we take you out. Well last night I gave myself my follistim. Then I was a good chemist and I mixed my menopur, I cleaned my belly and tried to swiftly stick the needle in. It poked me but I had a lot of resistance. I took it out and thought wow my abs are really firm! Ha so I tried again, but this time pushed harder. The same thing happened, I felt the poke and it hurt but the needle was not going all the way in for some reason. Daddy laughed at me and came over to show me the right way to do it. He cleaned my belly and then wham....still nothing, and it really hurt! He said sorry and told me he knew it must have hurt because he pushed really hard. We decided to change the needle, and wouldn't you know it, the new needle slid right in. After that fiasco I had to give the ganerelix. It wasn't bad at all. I will continue on all three medications until Dr. Potter tells me its go time, in that case I will add two more shots to my nightly regimen. Last night I got poked 6 times in the tummy so whats two more right?

Today I came home and walked Harvey. He has been such a good boy at home while Daddy is at school and I am at home. I really enjoy our nightly walks, I love how he is so curious, he always wants to smell everythihng. I try not to rush him because he has been inside all day. I try to allow him time to enjoy being out and explore. He is so wonderful. I always smile around him. I just know you will love him and he will love you!

After our walk I talked to my Grandma to fill her in on all the juicy details. She is my best bud and is the only person beside Daddy that knows everything. She is one of our biggest cheerleaders and she is so excited to meet you!

After that Mommy got anxious that you might come early and decided that I better do all of my spring cleaning today. I cleaned everything, I mean I dusted, swept, moped, did all three bathrooms, all bedrooms, vacuumed the entire house even the stairs!!! It was a lot, but I didn't want to worry about it while I am on bed rest. Messes drive me nuts. A little great news is that Daddy will be off school this friday! I am so happy because I was really worried that the Dr. would tell me he wanted to come get you friday and Daddy wouldn't be there to hold my hand or be with me. I hope it happens on a weekend so there are less people around but we will see my little ones. You get to pick your times. I just pray you are ready, safe, and above all healthy!

I love you little sweeties pies. I will keep you updated on how you are doing and how I am doing. I feel good, I have been eating my protein and drinking my yucky gatorade all for you. Debbie has been the best nurse and cheerleader too. She is so excited for us!

Love you!

Being a Mother

Hello my beautiful little angels. I say angels because I am guessing there will be more than one of you growing in my ovary right now. Grow little angels grow. Mommy has been very good working hard and eating very well in preparation for you. Daddy has been very helpful also. He has been giving me my shots. I think he likes it a lot more than I do. He is really good at giving them to me thought and tonight they didn't hurt nearly as bad. He was very gently and didn't push the thick one in fast.

Tomorrow I should get off work early, well at least that is the plan. Then Harvey and I are going to take ice cream over to Junes house and hang out a bit. She is lovely company. I really wish my Grandma lived closer so I could hang out with her more often. She is so fun and so hip. I can talk to her about anything and everything and I do :) She is so excited about you. She wrote Daddy and I a very big check to help us cover some of the expenses we are accruing in making you. She is so excited about your potential transfer date and also birth. She has been sharing our story with her best friend Punky. Punky lives in Hawaii and has been my Grandmas best friend for a really long time. I am so excited for you to meet our family and our friends. You are so loved already.

I wanted to include a few pictures of Daddy giving me my shots. Today I only had to take two shots, I also had to take 6 pills by mouth!!!eeps you are so much work already, but you are worth all of it my sweet heart. Grow well, and be healthy. I cannot wait to see you next week!! I'm going to have the earliest picture album ever:)

We love you!

It burns

So today was the first of my many nights of shots. Daddy was home early so I let him give them to me even though it hurts so much more when he does it than when I do it. My first shot was the menopur, it actually stung a little bit. I had to ask Daddy to push it in slowly because it hurt. After that I got my follistim, that one hurt a bit more than Gonal-F used to, but it wasn't that bad. You are more than worth it. Today was a wonderful day at work my little one. Guess what? the Dr that Mommy works with told me today that he was going to help Daddy and I make you for free!!!! Can you believe it? I still cant. Daddy and I will have to pay for your genetic testing but that is such a small price considering we are getting ivf for free. We were very lucky getting our medications from a mommy of a little baby I took care of. It seems like everything is exactly how it should be going finally!!! its a very nice feeling.

On a side not Harvey and I went for a walk with June yesterday and again today. She is a lovely lady, perhaps you will have the opportunity to hear her while you are growing in my belly. She is about 80 years old. She is getting ready to move back east to live with her son Jeff. Harvey just loves her and she really likes him. It has been a really nice treat getting to walk with her and also getting to know her. I wish my Grandma lived that close so we could go on nightly walks together. That would be the most fun thing ever. You never know maybe one day we will move closer to her and we can go on family walks. You will just love her, and well you will love everyone in our families. We are very lucky to be surrounded by so many wonderful people at home, at work, and in our community. Right now you are only a follicle, but I hope you grow grow grow. Soon Dr. potter will put Mommy to sleep and come in to get you. Then he will take you to a nice warm lab with nice ladies. There they will make you comfortable and then they will keep you safe until you come back to Mommy where you will stick and grow!!! I'm so excited to feel you inside me and also to eat wonderful food that I will share with you! Kisses my sweet one.

Dinner long past due

Today was a wonderful day! It was perfect. Today I woke up and made yummy oat pancakes with fresh strawberries from Sam's. After breakfast Daddy Harvey and I went to costco to get gas and the household necessities. After Costco we went to Huntington Beach to drop Harvey off at Grammie and Papa's house. He had such a good time with them. He always does, they spoil him and he loves it. They took him to the park and then for a really nice long walk. At the park another dog was mean to Harvey and started barking and biting him. Papa jumped in and saved him from the mean dog though. What a good Papa. Daddy and I got massages, it feels so good to be pampered, it had been so long since we had been and Daddy said once I get pregnant I will be so anxious about getting massages that I needed to get a good one before we try our very hardest to have you. After massages Daddy dropped me off at dinner with one of my best friends. I met up with Kelly, and her beautiful daughter Maja. Now let me take a few minutes to share these girls with you. Maja is beautiful, she is smart, loves to look around taking the entire scene in, she has the sweetest personality, loves to crinkle her nose and smile showing her beautiful teeth off. She was the best baby I have ever seen, she didn't fuss at all she ate wonderfully well and she talked and hummed and sang to us. She was all smiles. Too adoreable. Kelly and Ivo are doing an amazing job raising such a beautiful girl. Now for Kelly...where do I begin with Kelly. Well Kelly and I go back a long ways. She was one of my first friends in California. She was one of the only people I shared my entire life with, I was open and honest with her about my upbringing, about the person I was, am and hoped to be and she embraced every aspect of me with love and encouragement. Kelly was the first person to tell me I was beautiful. I can still remember it like it was today. We were young, Kelly had just gotten her license and we were going to see Jay Leno, Vin Diesel was on the show and we had slight crushes on him at the time. Anyway we were driving home talking about how much fun it was and a car pulled up near us filled with boys. The boys were looking at us and we giggled. I said they are looking at you, Kelly looked at me and said no they are looking at you. I remember saying why would they look at me, your beautiful. At that moment Kelly looked at me seriously and said no your pretty. You are beautiful Andrea. I melted inside, after years of being told I was ugly, stupid, and not good enough here was this beautiful girl telling me I was beautiful. At first I though she was trying to be nice to me but over time she convinced me I really was beautiful, I just had to see it for myself. Kelly also got me my first job. I worked at the Landing as a hostess with her and then eventually worked my way up to serving and then eventually bartending. It was really fun and I will always have those memories near my heart. Kelly has always been very sweet to my family, she is so loving and so giving. She always wants to know how your doing and what's going on in your life. I love that about her. Dinner was yummy. We parted promising to stay in better touch. Staying in touch with the people who mean the most to me is so important. my friends are the family I wanted so badly to have. I am so blessed to have them in my life. I am going to make a promise to myself and to my friends to do better this year at connecting and keeping that connection. I always gripe at Daddy because he is always gone studying and then when he is home he isn't mentally home. I tell him you need to make your relationships important and make them a priority or else they will vanish and at the end of your life you may regret losing them. I need to take my own advise and make the time for the people who are most important to me. Yes its nice to hibernate on the weekends especially after working a hectic week, but its also nice to make memories that will last me a life time. Im excited.

On a side note.... I went to acupuncture yesterday. Dr. Pak is wonderful. I loved her, she was so gentle, kind, warm and so smart. She didn't make me feel rushed and she really treated me well. I will be working with her once or twice a week, she will see me after the egg retrieval and then again the day of transfer. She will treat me right before the Dr. puts you back home, and then right after. Im really excited. I hope you like the heat lamp she uses on my tummy and find a lovely spot to call home until Daddy and I can bring you home. We are looking forward to so much. Auntie Kelly is going to make me a warp to carry you in so you can be very near my heart! Im excited.

This week Mommy and Daddy start the harder stuff. This week we will take antibiotics for five days. Mommy will start stimulation medications and get ultrasounds and blood work almost daily. Im excited and completely anxious at the same time. I feel better working for Dr. Potter, I trust him and I know I can ask him anything. I know he has the best intentions of helping Daddy and I have you.
I love you my little one!
